Joyciline Jepkosgei and Mary Keitany to Race RAK Half Marathon

The half marathon world record holder, Joyciline Jepkosgei, will race Friday against women's only marathon world record holder, Mary Keitany, at the RAK Half Marathon.

Both women had strong years in 2017. Jepkosgei twice broke the half marathon world record. She also broke records at 10, 15 and 20 kilometers.

Keitany's success primarily came at the marathon, including a 2:17:01 clocking at the London Marathon, where she broke the women's only world record. She also finished second at the New York City Marathon in a sub-par performance.

Due to time zones, the race will take place Thursday night in the U.S.
